About Nexignis
Nexignis provides global fuel price intelligence for analysts, journalists, policymakers, and anyone who needs to understand what is happening in diesel and gasoline markets worldwide. We track prices across 116 countries and distill that data into actionable insights rather than raw numbers.
The platform was built on a simple premise: fuel price data exists, but it is scattered across dozens of government agencies, international organizations, and industry reports. No single source covers enough markets to reveal global patterns. Nexignis aggregates, normalizes, and analyzes data from multiple authoritative sources to provide a coherent picture of worldwide fuel markets.
Our methodology combines multi-source data aggregation with AI-assisted analysis. Every data point is normalized to USD per liter for cross-country comparison. Our anomaly detection system automatically identifies unusual price movements, and our Fuel Mood indicator synthesizes market conditions into an at-a-glance state reading. Analytical summaries are generated with AI assistance to help contextualize the data.
Transparency is a core principle. Every AI-generated analysis is clearly labeled. Every data source is attributed. The Fuel Mood indicator publishes its component breakdown so users can see exactly what drives the reading. We believe intelligence tools should be auditable, not opaque.
Built By
Nexignis is built by a solo developer passionate about making energy data accessible. The project combines expertise in data engineering, web development, and a deep interest in commodity markets to create tools that turn scattered information into useful intelligence.
Data Sources
We aggregate data from official government sources, international organizations, and public news feeds. Where official data is unavailable, we use AI-assisted estimation clearly labeled as such.
US Energy Information Administration (EIA)
Weekly US diesel and gasoline retail prices. Public domain data.
EU Oil Bulletin (European Commission)
Weekly consumer fuel prices for all 27 EU member states.
Spain MINETUR
Daily fuel station prices averaged across 12,000+ stations.
Mexico CRE
Mexico energy regulator fuel price data.
World Bank Global Fuel Prices Database
Historical fuel price data (2015–2025) used for baseline comparisons. Open license.
Google News RSS (public feeds)
Fuel price headlines in 25+ languages. We read public RSS feeds — the same as any news reader — and use AI to extract price data from headlines for countries without official sources.
EIA Petroleum API (Crude benchmarks)
Daily Brent and WTI crude oil prices for the estimation model.
Automated Price Extraction
News headlines are processed to extract price data mentioned in published articles. Used for countries without official government data feeds.
Estimation Model
For countries without fresh official data, prices are estimated using the last known official price, recent price trend, and Brent crude oil movement. These are always labeled 'ESTIMATED' and never presented as official data.
